Beginning in the 1970s, but later more formalized in 1992, the Bellingham Farmers Market offers fresh produce, flowers, crafts, prepared foods and live entertainment. Open the third Saturday in January, February, and March. Then open every Saturday April through the third week of December. Hours are 10am-2pm. It’s a fun little market that we go to every so often. I absolutely love their food vendors and usually get a pretzel called the Swiss Stick from Ralf’s Bavarian Pretzel Bakery. Add a little mustard and it is perfection!

Another delicious treat I like to snack on is a snow cone from the market’s Shave Ice. Even on an overcast day the syrupy sweetness of a rainbow cone is easy to savor.
