Originally 7-Eleven was founded in 1927 as an icehouse storefront in Dallas, Texas. Since 2002 7-Eleven has celebrated its birthday on July 11th by offering customers a free slurpee as a “thank you” for their patronage. This year they celebrate their 97th birthday and have partnered with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. The cup is designed by 7-year old Nolan, a cancer survivor. Participating 7-Elevens are featuring a limited-time-only Mountain Dew Freedom Fusion flavor. What flavor did I get? Well I was looking for my favorite (Pina Colada) but I think through mislabeling it ended up being Mountain Dew. Not that I’m complaining, a free slurpee is still FREE and refreshing on a hot summer day!
